Thanks for visiting! As of now, this blog functions as my own personal inspiration board/self-promo. location for my adventures in illustration...
PS - Please don't steal (or use without asking) any artwork from this blog. I trust everyone but it seems as though I'd be better off reminding new visitors up-front to be fair and honest before it's too late. If you are interested in any artwork please contact me through www.loveyourinvite.com for more details.
Thank you,
Melanie
my studio
Here's a glimpse into my world. I work in my studio every day for the development of Love Your Invite. All of my projects and hobbies are born and die in this tiny room. I live in a bubble.
EFE was started in 2007 to bring together Emerging Female Entrepreneurs of the area through group meetings and blog posts. If you are interested please find out more by clicking below!
I am now selling some illustrations from here on my etsy shop. Please check them out and pick one up for yourself!
Love where you live
I really believe in surrounding yourself in inspirational matter! Check out what inspires me at home below...
In the kitchen
I can't get enough of my kitchen floor! Everyone who sees it... falls in love.
in the bedroom
Terrariums! My own little galaxy in a glass jar - thanks for your help Jen Pinky!
Another project besides work!
Found this mirror at the second hand furniture shop down the street and painted over it's original antique gold with this cheery robin egg blue. Now I wake up every morning to the light reflecting from it's glory...
this doesn't feel like work!
Working with Wendy! Wendy Stevens makes the most incredible handbags out of metal and leather. She's an awesome lady, boss and friend! You can order her purses from her fabulous website www.wendystevens.com
luna del mar is one of my favorites!!!!
you can help
Seriously! You can help real people at www.boikarabelo.org Don't feel like you have too little to offer... $10 is a big help – so, share with people in need. Read more about them and the people who founded the community and I know you'll catch on and spread the word!
Last months "projects besides work"
I painted this old bench last month. It was so rejuvenating to work on something that wasn't paper! I really recommend stepping out of your everyday creative techniques once in a while. So, I started with a bright green (green green) as a base and worked spontaneously from there... the yellow is (iceland poppy) and the blue I mixed myself. The outline of the design was done with a silver paint pen - I liked the way it all turned out and I plan to do something like this once a month for a while...
