wowee! while i was busy giving birth (whew!)
my maple veneer calendars were really getting some love!
first they were selected as a better homes and gardens DIY issue–
"best of etsy" pick...

and then highlighted as an etsy gift idea –

amazing, right!?
hurry now and get your own!

my very best creation yet.
well folks, this is it.
this is me signing off for a bit.
i'll hopefully be popping this baby out any day now and i just wanted to do a little goodbye post featuring the "just beginnings" of my neutral nursery.
(we decided to keep the sex a surprise and it's been so fun!)

once we know what this little thing is i'll update with more
of how we add to it and make it even more special!

just entering this happy space makes me smile every day
and really wish this babe was here already...

the whole gang is just waiting for you! come out now!

all of my amazing friends have made such special things for you –
like this incredible little dutchy hang-out-matt by one of my best buds, jen lindsay.

and this beautifully impecable gray and yellow quilt made by another best bud, bethany lewis!
more details on this awesome thing soon
since it needs a whole bunch of shots to show off it's true colors!

it seems every nursery needs some eric carle...

and because we love cutesy + gross humor = the best of daddy's garbage pal kids collection...

and because i love the "little things" i had to get this adorable owl light switch

and i replaced the boring closet pulls with this little fox chasing a hare!

you may notice a few ikea treasures including this ceiling light
which is a good temporary fix until we decide on a ceiling fan or not...

some closet goodness... ah, just look at those booties!!!
(more details on the handcrafted booties soon since again, they need their own post!)

and finally the rocking chair – and a packed bag sitting by... ready and waiting!

so, while i'm off enjoying this most enchanting time i'll be having some specials guests popping in to update you and keep things a'rolling.

my lovely friend and PR princess, christin kelley will be making some guest appearances and keep you informed of all the biz happenings. and my super special best gal-pal, cally graham will keep you informed of all things LOVED around these parts.

so, orevwa and sayonara but no worries – i'll be back soon and i'll be even better than ever since
i'll be back a mother which i've always pursued as the ultimate dream job in this awesome life.
wish me luck and be sure to stay tuned!

this one's dedicated to the babe:
here's what the yard looked like in the season of your birth...

we just can't wait until you come out and see it for yourself!
whew, just in tme for baby we have finally completed our sunroom project!
i'm so happy with how it all turned out and can't wait to hang in there this winter with our little one, warm toes, and a beautiful view of our yard...

here's the before and after...

plus some interior shots for inspiration

{our lovely fiore pendant lamps are from CB2
and the beautiful brazilian gray slate tiles are from the cleft stone works}

hope this inspires you to turn a rotten old part of your home or life into something so much better... even if it's your scary closet or a bad attitude – dust it up or tear it down and breathe new life into it!
it's an amazing feeling when you're enjoying the fruits of your labor.

happy mid-week friends!

since i'm about to close up shop on all things custom
i just wanted to show that last two pieces i've created before taking my leave...

this piece was a such a joy to make –
a return customer told me how she had just been proposed to with these words from dr. seuss and how she'd love to have them made into a piece of art as a gift to her fiance...

i love it so much i plan to make it available in my shop for all to enjoy!

and this second piece is a simple and modern ketubah –
i always love the sentiment and traditional wording/signing that goes along with a ketubah.

i think i'll make this one available to the public, too! hooray!

i sure will miss making custom pieces for a while
but in the meantime i'll be sure to be working diligently on my own little custom piece here at home...

wow, i can't believe the time is actually here!
next wednesday i am accepting my very last custom orders before this baby arrives...
so, if you need that perfect wedding or baby gift please order before noon EST on wednesday october the 10th...

{ooooo the pretty colors – order yours today!}

hopefully i'll have that happy little baby that sleeps soooo wonderfully well and gives me plenty of time to make all your custom wishes come true in the new year. that's a dream, right? well, i'm dreaming it so cross your fingers for me!

{check out this sweet little sleeping baby photographed by the lovely catara carrell!}

in the meantime, i'll be settling my dust so i can rest up before my gauntlet of sleep deprivation. yikes! but i will be setting up some help around here with the regular orders so i'd like to extend a friendly coupon to my loyal viewers. enter HAPPYBABY at the checkout for 20% off your entire order from now until november 1st.

stock up now for the holidays so you can enjoy and relish the time in the moment.
at least that's my plan... and i'm sticking to it.

oooh check out my 2013 best year ever calendars on creative bloq –
of course, i am totally honored to be chosen as one of the
"twenty stunning examples of calendar design for 2013"...

and they mentioned me falling pregnant – oh, how i love that terminology!

happy friday, ya'll!
what a week – it's been one of those that makes me feel like i just can't seem to keep up!

the major highlight has been a little story with a sale over at sometimes sweet – the lovely author/creator, danielle wrote a happy little post about me and i have given the readers a celebratory discount on my nursery and kiddo collections! hop over and check it all out. no need to do anything, simply purchase the one you like via her blog! hooray!

also, double dutch has some fun new items in the shop for fall –
i've created a selection of recipe cards and market lists that i'm hoping some of you may like!

{pack of 5 recipe cards in blueberry, dill leaf, dill flower and parsley - only $8}

{wood clip board with 20 market list sheets - only $12}

both were inspired by our new adventure bloom and if you're interested
they're there just waiting for a happy kitchen to fly off to!
they also make great gifts in a basket, stocking or thank you for a fabulous thanksgiving dinner.

(also if you love that little embroidered hand towel in the photos
check out chez sucre chez to get your own.)

also, on a last note of love and sweetness
my 6th wedding anniversary is this sunday...
it's been the best 6 years of my life with my best friend
and it just keeps getting better.

can't wait to celebrate!

hello friends!
hope all of you are doing well on this lovely warm and rainy day.
something about this weather makes me feel super content and calm –
currently i'm really enjoying working in the low light and mild temperature.
no air-conditioning, no fan, no heat. just stillness. ahhhh it's so very nice.

so, here's a little more update from around my parts.
our little bloom project had a great spot at the fall fest and the weather was amazing!
even though i was thoroughly beat from just sitting around (see my big-bellied self below) i really had a great time talking to people and making some great connections.

furthermore i got to see my latest logo work in action
and fell in love all over again!

here's the scoop: i created phoebe's pure food logo a couple months ago
and have been waiting until now to show it off. hope you like it!

phoebe's love of blueberries and purist of intentions with her foods hopefully shows through in this happy blueberry bush design i created for her. the white "dove" in the bush is there to symbolize the purity of the food and is frankly... just too stinkin' cute to go without.

i love to make a logo that can be just as beautiful when used vertically
as well as horizontally...

and you can't forget about it looking good in black and white...

here's the logo used as a stamp for her product bags she had at the fest–
so pretty, right!? mmm i wish i was drinking that tea right now!
check out more of what phoebe had there at the bloom blog.

last but not least – my husband and i got to give back
to a very special lady in my heart...
alex milspaw started helping me a while back after i talked with her about a book i was reading focused on mind, body and infertility. alex knew all about what i was going through and even how to help via her wonderful relaxation recordings. after listening to them and having a recording created just for me i was hooked and forever thankful. so, when she decided to create a professional recording, keegan and i helped any way that we could!

keegan did all the studio recordings and i made a simple design for the sleeve...

and if you're suffering from any sort of chronic pain, infertility, anxiety or just want a way to really slow down, relax, and be mindful on a daily basis

oh, how i love making beautiful things for beautiful people!
i'm so lucky. i must remember it and be thankful everyday.
